Shape-Z 3D Operators

Shapes in Shape-Z are blended via operators which define how a given shape is combined with the previous shapes in the hierarchy.

In this example we operate a gray sphere on a rounded, white box. The below operators are applied to the sphere.

Note that each operator may have additional options.

Merge Operators

 Merge

Simple addition of the two shapes.

Merge Blend

Smooth interpolation between the two shapes.

Merge Chamfer

45 degree edge between the two shapes.

Merge Steps

Steps between the two shapes.

Merge Tubes

Tubes between the two shapes.

 

Intersect Operators

 Intersect

Intersection between the two shapes.

Intersect Blend

Smooth intersection between the two shapes.

Intersect Chamfer

Intersection with a 45 degree edge.

Intersect Steps

Intersection with steps.

Intersect Tubes

Intersection with tubes.

 

 

Subtraction

 Subtract

Subtraction between the two shapes.

Subtraction Blend

Smooth subtraction between the two shapes.

Subtract Chamfer

Subtraction with a 45 degree edge.

Subtract Steps

Subtraction with steps between the two shapes.

Subtract Tubes

Subtraction with tubes between the two shapes.

 

 

Other Operators

 Engrave

Inserts a 45 degree engraving along the intersection.

Groove

Inserts a groove along the intersection.

Tongue

Adds a tongue like shape at the intersection.

Tube

Creates a tube along the intersection line.
